Energy supply and use play a large role in the design of new properties. With the increasing recognition of renewable energy sources, wind, solar, ground source and air source are becoming more popular. With the introduction of renewable energy along side energy efficient fittings and appliances, we are reducing our carbon footprint whist reducing our energy consumption and cost.
All new dwellings now require a SAP energy assessment to produce an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). EPC are required to be displayed in new dwellings. SAP assessments are also required for Building Regulation Applications for new dwellings. SAP assessments are calculated using the areas and volumes of the dwelling, areas of individual materials, hot water and heating system, ventilation, dwelling construction, and renewable energy sources.
